Human beings are entitled to the right to life and liberty, freedom from torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, the right to equality and dignity, and to live free from all forms of discrimination.
And you do not need to sign a contract or treaty to serve humanity such as the 1951 UN resolution. As human beings, we have all been inherited these inalienable fundamental rights by the mother of nature since birth; it does not matter whether the person is a Refugee people, an immigrant or a citizen.
Denying these basic rights means that Refugee people are oppressed, persecuted or subjected to dehumanization in Indonesia. This violation of basic rights is constituted as a crime against humanity international laws applied with condemnation to the violators.
These laws are made to reserve humanity and peace, not just for them, but for everyone.
Imagine Yourself In The Shoes Of A Refugee people
If your country is bombarded by another country and you can no longer be safe in the country and leave your country to see refuge in another country. As you seek refuge, they locked you up in detention and you are effectively denied your basic rights to live and rebuild your life as a human being. How would you feel then?
It is the situation of almost every Refugee people around the world. However, the Refugee people in Indonesia are particularly affected by the inhuman policies of Australia, which have already killed several of them and forced many to take their own lives in Indonesia.
Refugee people in Indonesia are not only denied their fundamental rights, but also access to medical services. Yes, This means Refugee people have no access to proper medication. IOM (an international organization for Migrants, funded by Australia to outsource its deterrent agendas, provide limited medical support.
A Refugee people in Makassar described his medical condition:
I have personally witnessed many Refugee people who have died due to medical denial and untimely treatment.
Like Refugee people in Ukraine, these refugee people are also fleeing from war. conflict, genocide and political instability in their countries. When they ventured to seek safety, they faced a much worse situation in Indonesia and have been trapped in indefinite uncertainty of their future for more than a decade now. Like Refugee people in Ukraine, they also need a settlement solution urgently.
Everyone is responsible for everything else happening around the world; your actions might not have a direct effect on causes, but we are all connected one way or another. We cannot deny the fact that we are all social creatures and we thrive through each other help.
Since the resources and wealth you have, must come from somewhere, we are accountable to each other, and your every action affects everyone you know. Far or near, there is always a side effect of every action. You might not realize it, but others have to do this with their lives.
